If I Were Designing Your Home, Here’s What I’d Focus On
As a professional Interior Designer, when I approach any space, I’m not thinking about trends—I’m thinking about you. How you live. What makes you feel grounded. And what kind of energy you want to come home to.
These are my five core design principles I return to again and again when helping clients transform their spaces.
Blending finishes. One of my personal favorite things to do since it adds depth and visual interest. It’s a simple way to make a space feel elevated without being trendy.
Mixing finishes (the right way) creates that layered, lived-in look that stands the test of time.
Design is more than what you see—it’s what you feel.
I love bringing in different textiles, natural elements, and carefully curated color variations to create a space that feels grounded and inviting. This kind of layering adds warmth, comfort, and personality.
Lighting is one of the most transformative design tools. Soft, ambient lighting can instantly shift the mood of a room.
I often recommend a mix of lighting types to create flexible and cozy environments throughout the day.
A home should feel like a reflection of the people who live there.
Whether it's a meaningful object, travel memento, or heirloom piece, adding those personal elements brings authenticity and emotional connection to your space.
No matter how beautiful a room is, it needs to function for your lifestyle. I always start with how you move through the space.
From furniture placement to organization and layout. Good design should flow with your daily rhythm, not fight against it.
Designing a home isn’t just about picking paint colors or swapping pillows. It’s about creating a space that feels like you.
